Efficient Algorithms for Finite Automata

This thesis presents new algorithm for complement of nondeterministic finite automata. State-of-the-art methods require conversion to deterministic finite automata, which can have exponentially larger number of states. This new algorithm works separately on each strongly connected component of finite automata. This approach allows to create complement of each component, reduce it and combine with other parts. This algorithm was proven to create less states for specific types of finite automata than existing methods.
Sanatorium with Speleotherapy for Childern Ostrov u Macochy

The master thesis Sanatorium with Speleotherapy for Children - Ostrov u Macochy is an architectonical concept which consist of the establishment of a sanatorium with various functions for patients and the public. The compound offers a medical block, administrative and economic blocks, a school, a cafeteria for visitors, a guests house for adult clients and complement. The building site is located on an inclined terrain near Císařské jeskyně (Caesar cave) and it is surrounded by forest from three sides. There is a scenic view to the south from the construction site. The neighboring buildings consist only of family houses. The compound of sanatorium aimed to have the closest interaction with surroundings and the terrain, therefore the estate is divided into three different segments based on the three most important functions of the construction program.
Complement - The Comparison of Academic and School Conception

The master thesis "Complement - The Comparison of Academic and School Conception" examines the professional and school concepts of the often-discussed clause element - complement. The author compares selected linguistic approaches to the complement, focusing primarily on the similarities and differences in the different conceptions - what linguists (dis)consider to be a complement, how the complement is realized, what is the division of the complement. In the school conception, the author analyses the key educational documents (the Framework Educational Programmes, the requirements for the didactic test in Czech language, the requirements for the Unified Entrance Examination in Czech language and the textbooks used in teaching Czech) and the teachers' view of this clause element. The author aims to find out whether the complement is a compulsory part of education and whether textbooks provide appropriate support for functional work with the complement. In the conclusion of the paper, the author proposes three methodological lessons of his own, based on the above-mentioned analysis, which can be used in Czech language classes. Interaction of the human pathogen Bordetella pertussis with blood serum

Bordetella pertussis is a Gram-negative strictly human pathogen and the major causative agent of whooping cough or pertussis. The incidence of this highly contagious respiratory disease in developed countries has increased in the last decades. One of the less characterized virulence factors of B. pertussis is the type three secretion system (TTSS) which is responsible for the secretion of the effector proteins into host eukaryotic cells. This diploma thesis sheds light onto factors influencing TTSS in vitro activity. Although TTSS of laboratory strain Tohama I was induced by biologically active compounds present in blood (e. g. complement proteins), TTSS of recent clinical isolate B1917 seems to be induced permanently. Furthermore, BB0302 encoding a GntR family transcription regulator in B. bronchiseptica RB50 (homologous to BP0209 of Tohama I) was studied, however, the deletion of this gene did not affect the TTSS functionality. Serum resistance is a factor that plays a key role in the pathogenesis of B pertussis. We show that Czech recent isolates (2008-2015) are significantly more resistant to serum killing in vitro than the original vaccine strains (1954-1965). Complement-binding antibodies in patients after organ transplantation and their clinical relevance

The diagnosis of antibody-mediated rejection after liver transplantation is complicated, due to the fact that the clinical and pathological signs of this life- threatening complication are often overlapping with non-immunological symptoms, like biliary obstruction, ischemia, thrombosis and others. Furthermore, the transplanted liver is to a great extent resistant to this type of rejection. Like in the transplanted kidney and heart, the main pathological factors of graft injury are antibodies directed to the mismatched HLA antigens of the organ donor, i.e. donor- specific antibodies. Besides analysis of HLA specificity of antibodies, research lately has been directed to define whether these antibodies are complement-binding or not. Literature data on this are however up till now limited. Therefore, the aim of this diploma thesis was to study the clinical relevance of complement-binding antibodies against HLA antigens in patients after liver transplantation. Our preliminary results suggest that there might be a correlation between the presence of complement-binding antibodies and the development of antibody-mediated rejection. This finding may play a role for improvement of the prognosis of patients after liver transplantation. Key words HLA, antibodies, C4d, complement, liver transplantation
The complement of the Spanish adjective

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and describe the complement of the Spanish adjective. We clarify the heterogeneity of linguistic theories that approach this topic. We select the theory of valency in order to delineate the complement of adjective as a valence complement. We review its characteristics and compare the information in the quoted literature with the results of linguistic corpuses CREA and InterCorp. In the practical part, we analyse the corpuses for the combinations of adjective valency, obligation, the possibility of ellipsis, the influence of quantification on the complement and collocations. Sensitivity of spirochetes from \kur{Borrelia burgdorferi} sensu lato complex to human complement: infection potential of selected species

Sensitivity of spirochetes from Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato complex to serum complement of humans of different age and sex was analyzed. Complement-mediated Borrelia killing was observed in different combination of serum and selected Borrelia genospecies. The obtained results confirmed that age itself does not influence the sensitivity of human to Borrelia infection. However, the females seem to be more vulnerable to it. Each of ten tested Borrelia species was proved to be potentially infective for human in different ratio. The clear separation of all ten checked Borrelia species into two groups was revealed after the reaction with human sera: species with low sensitivity to human serum complement (mortality below 1 percent) and species with higher sensitivity (mortality over 3-4 percent).
